Building Six Pack Abs
You are not alone if you have been asking the question of, "how do I build six pack abs?" Building six pack abs are one of the hottest topics today in the fitness industry, but also a controversial topic as well. Every day, people from all over head to the gym to do hours and hours of crunches to build their abs. All you have to do is turn on your television anytime of the day or night and you'll see various ads selling exercise machines and diets that are "guaranteed" to build your six pack abs. But still you ask, "How do I build my six pack abs?" Experts all agree that all of the machines, gimmicks, and tools in the world can't give you ripped six pack abs overnight. Although what may surprise many people is that even all the sit-ups and crunches in the world won't help either. There are 3 things you need to do to get those six pack abs: 1. Start a sound diet. 2. Start burning fat. 3. Start an exercise program
Starting a Diet- The first thing you need to do to build your six pack abs is to gain control of your diet. In reality, your abs may already look great, but for some reason you just can't see them under that layer of fat. Before you engage upon an abdominal training exercise program or start spending money on any ab exercise equipment, understand your diet and focus your time and energy on training your abs. Burning the Fat The second thing is burning the fat as full body workouts will give you the most return on your time spent in the gym. You should choose exercises that work a whole group of muscles at once, and then target individual muscles after you have improved your all over fitness as well as built some solid muscle. You will benefit the most when combining whole body aerobic exercises with a high repetition intensity routine. This will give you the best fat burning workout, which you will feel long after you finished exercising. Putting your diet on track and maximizing your metabolism burning will help jump-start your abdominal training program. Once you get these things in place, you may notice that you may need to work your abs as much as you originally thought. Toning Those Abs When it comes to toning abs, what do you really know about them? Most people will tell you that doing sit ups or crunches all day long will give you a set of killer abs, but that is just not case. A good rule of thumb is that if you can do at least 20 repetitions you're working too hard for too little in return. In other words, you're wasting your time doing unnecessary work. The rule to toning your abs is high resistance, as the higher resistance exercises should get you down into the 8-15 repetition range. High resistance exercises should include movements that involve raising your legs, or thrusting your pelvis. Try the following on for size: - Knee raises- Hip thrusts (lying down)- Hanging leg raises- Pelvic curl ups Please note that unless you are already in really great shape that when you start doing these exercises you should only be able to do a couple, no matter how many crunches or sit-ups you are used to doing in a single setting. Now, if you really want those toned abs, the first and most important thing is to eat a balanced healthy diet, which will help speed up your metabolism. When you pick ab exercises, choose the exercises that offer the highest resistance. By following this plan, your abs training routine will pay off faster than you could have ever thought possible.
