Crunches
Crunches are most likely and probably the core exercise in an ab exercise routine. It is also one of the easiest ways to work your six pack abs. The biggest problem is that they are often performed incorrectly which causes unnecessary strain, and pain.
The most important thing to remember about crunches is you do not want to put any strain on your neck, as this is not working your abs. The purpose of crunches is to work your six pack abs, not your neck. Be sure that you are letting your abdominal muscles do the work and while feeling the burn at the same time. Try to use proper form so that you are not working any other muscles, as this will minimize your results.
In addition to the burn involved in doing crunches, many people give up because they do not see immediate results. However, if you want visible results for the amount of effort put in then the easiest way to work your abs is by focusing on the obliques. Oblique crunches are very popular for achieving this effect and will provide dramatic results that others will take notice of very quickly.
An oblique crunch is a traditional crunch with a slight twist. These types of crunches may not exactly be the easiest way to work your abs, but they do provide the best results for your effort. I do consider easy by the amount of effort it takes for the same amount of results, and these are by far the most effective abdominal exercises that you can do for the best return on your investment.
The important thing to remember about all ab exercises is that there is never one way of doing any one thing. With everything you must find what works best for you, as we all respond different when it comes to addressing our individual workout routines. This simple type of exercise is a great place to start with forming your abs. As you gain experience you will progress through trial and error to find other exercises that work best for your particular needs and fitness goals.
